YouRiff is a guitar app for iPhone. This policy says what the app stores, what stays on your phone, and how to reach us. Contact support@youriff.app.
What we collect
YouRiff does not ask you to make an account or give an email address. The app keeps an anonymous identifier so your songs and practice can be saved to that install.
- Songs you open, and your practice progress.
- Answers you give during setup: name, age, guitar, experience, goals, where you listen, genres, artists you keep, fretting hand, how many minutes you want to practice, and the first song you name.
- Whether you have an active YouRiff Pro subscription, from Apple through RevenueCat. We do not receive your card number.
Microphone
The tuner, chord checks, and rhythm scoring run on your iPhone. Live microphone audio is not uploaded. A recording is uploaded only if you choose to analyze a file you recorded or imported. That raw audio is deleted within 24 hours.
Apple Music
If you connect Apple Music, YouRiff reads song titles and artists to suggest songs and to pick a track for its chords. Audio from Apple Music is never analyzed.
YouTube API Services
YouRiff uses YouTube API Services. When you pick a song, our server sends the title and artist to find one official, embeddable video. We keep the video id, title, channel name, and thumbnail for 30 days so the same song is not searched again. That lookup is not stored under your name. The video plays in the official YouTube player. YouRiff does not download or store YouTube video or audio, and it does not access Authorized Data from a YouTube account.
The embedded player shares player data with YouTube so it can show the video, check playability, and limit abuse. Playback starts when you press play.
By using playback, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). Google's privacy policy is at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
YouRiff does not ask you to sign in with Google. If that ever changes, you can revoke access at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, and we will delete stored API data for that consent.
Who we share it with
Supabase hosts the database. Google Gemini analyzes songs you open. The YouTube Data API finds the video. RevenueCat reports subscription status. Apple processes the purchase. We do not sell your information.
Deletion
Email support@youriff.app and we will delete the songs and progress we can tie to you. Raw audio you uploaded is deleted within 24 hours. The shared video lookup expires after 30 days and is not tied to you. Deleting the app removes it from your phone. It does not cancel a subscription.
Children
YouRiff is not directed at children under 13. If we learn we have information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
